St. Johnstone midfield prospect Cammy Ballantyne has today extended his loan with Montrose until the end of the season and signed a new contract that will keep him in Perth until 2024.

Ballantyne is currently in his 3rd stint at the Angus-based club where he is a fan favourite. The creative midfielder has been on top form in cinch League One once again; scoring once and assisting a further 6 times in just 11 games with Montrose sitting 2nd in the table.
His loan move was set to run out in the coming weeks but the clubs have come to an agreement where he can stay at Montrose for the remainder of the current campaign, which should serve his development well.
Cammy then extended his contract until the summer of 2024, with his previous deal set to run out this year. This is a very smart thing to do as there would be no shortage of clubs sniffing around come the summer, he is a very talented player.
Ballantyne was on the fringes of the first team at the start of the season and had he not left on loan he would have likely got a run in the team over the last few months due to injuries in his position.
Fellow youngster Spencer Moreland has joined Stenhousemuir until the end of the season on loan. He has yet to make an appearance for Saints and the 18-year-old will hopefully gain some valuable experience in League Two.
