After around 6 weeks of waiting, the signing of Eetu Vertainen has finally been confirmed.

The signing of Finnish under-21 international Eetu Vertainen has finally been confirmed by St. Johnstone, around 6 weeks after the deal's rumoured completion.
Vertainen remains unable to play due to issues with getting a work permit, which has been caused by a combination of new Brexit regulations and St. Johnstone's failure to acquire a license.
Hopefully the 6ft 2" forward can play soon, there are high expectations after such a long wait for the 22 year old but from what I've seen of him he looks like a very good player.
Vertainen has signed a 2 year deal in Perth for an undisclosed fee, he joins from Finnish club FC Ilves.

Here is what the man himself said upon signing for the club:
"I'm pleased that this deal has been agreed, and I can't wait to get started."
"I've been in Perth for a couple of weeks, but due to rules and regulations of the transfer, there is paperwork that needs to be completed before I'll be available for selection."
"The Football Club has dealt with everything in a professional manner, and hopefully, that can all be completed in the next few days, and I can then look forward to playing for St Johnstone."
"I've been to the European games, and the atmosphere inside McDiarmid Park has been incredible. The Saints supporters are very special, and the way they back the team is just brilliant."
"I can't wait to play in front of them."
Eetu sounds excited to get started for Saints and I can't wait to see him in action!
*Vertainen's move is still subject to work permit approval*
I do think that this has only just been announced now to try and offset the unrest from yesterday's deadline day outgoings and incomings, it does feel as if we aren't any further on than before. However, at least he is official now - progress is progress.
