St. Johnstone have taken 21-Year-Old former Watford Midfielder Daniel Phillips on trial.
[Phillips is dismissed for a tough tackle]
Phillips, who left Watford after his contract with the hornets expired this summer, spent last season on loan in League One with Gillingham. He made 27 appearances for the club, scoring once, assisting once and receiving a whopping 3 red cards - all second yellows.
The Midfielder has recently made his mark at international level, earning 5 caps for Trinidad and Tobago, showing his versatility by playing at the base of midfield, in the centre and in a more advanced role.
He also managed 5 games for the Watford senior side and spent time on the books at Chelsea.
Phillips has been noted for his athleticism and tough tackling as an all-round midfielder, who likes the ball at his feet but also thrives without it. St. Johnstone are crying out for someone in that mould in the centre of the park and he seems like an ideal fit.
With Phillips now training with the club it will be down to Callum Davidson if he does opt to hand the youngster a deal.
