Manager Callum Davidson will have to watch the game from home, after the club confirmed that he had tested positive for Covid-19 earlier this week. Assistant Manager and club legend Steven MacLean will take charge of the side for today's match.

Here is our preview of today's game:

How to Watch

Tickets are still available to purchase HERE and I would encourage anyone who is on the fence about going today to go for it, if possible. The weather is lovely and the team need our support more than ever. There is also a decent chance of a result!

If you cannot make today's game there is a PPV option HERE, whilst season ticket holders can watch online HERE.

Head-to-Head

St. Johnstone have a very mixed record against Motherwell in recent years. The Perth side lost away to Graham Alexander's team in the most recent clash with 'The Steelmen', and the last encounter at McDiarmid Park resulted in a 1-1 draw.

From the last 43 games played between the sides, Saints have won 19, Motherwell 18 and the other 6 were draws.

Saints vs Motherwell has certainly been an entertaining fixture over the years and there have just been 4 goalless draws in the history of the fixture. Hoping for that trend to continue today.

Team News

St. Johnstone

As Manager Callum Davidson misses out with Covid-19, Steven MacLean will be the man in the dugout today.

'Macca' remains with Wotherspoon and Kane who have been ruled out for the season. It is also expected that this one will come too soon for Craig Bryson, with Tom Sang "touch and go" to make the squad.

However, the squad has been boosted by the return of Shaun Rooney, Callum Booth, Murray Davidson and James Brown who all return to the fold.

MacLean has otherwise a full squad to choose from.

Score Prediction: St. Johnstone 2-1 Motherwell

Today's game is massive for Saints. It gives the Perth side a great chance to pull away from Dundee. A win could see St. Johnstone end the weekend 4 points clear of the bottom. This is a real chance to create some momentum, with Livingston at home next, going into the split.

It is crazy what a couple of wins could do for Saints. 6 points from the next 9 could almost bury Dundee and give us the best possible chance going into a likely play-off.

A defeat would be a massive missed opportunity for Saints, and would give Dundee a chance to over take us. The games are running out rapidly and every single match feels like a must-win at the moment.

[Saints lost 2-0 last time out against Motherwell]

St. Johnstone have shown flashes of good play in recent months and the performances have definitely been picking up. Motherwell are going through a sticky spell of form but are no means an easy team to beat.

It will take St. Johnstone's A-game to secure all 3 points today. Regardless of the performance, any Saints fan would bite your hand off for the right result!
